I picked up my new 4710 E-hydro w/heavy duty FEL, R4's loaded, work light, It came with all the toys cruise, load match, motion match, e-4*4, block heater and there was a $400 rebate if you buy 2 attachments, FEL is 1 and I opted for a 3pth back blade since it is only $440 basically free, total for the tractor is $23600. Saved 350 when I picked it up. I felt I made a great choice and price, comments welcomed.

Brian, congratulations and welcome to Tractor Point. You made a great choice with which I think you will be VERY happy and satisfied with. Might want to look ahead a bit and consider whether you want to do the 50 hr. break in service yourself or not. I did mine. Not a difficult service to perform and can save yourself a few hundred bucks as well as get a feel and familiarity with your new tractor working on it. You may want to later on down the road add some work lights and maybe an armrest kit. Nice machine you purchased there! Hope you will join up and become a premium member and stop by regular. ....

I found that JD has it's own type of quick connects for rear remotes, someone mentioned to me that you can use regular connections with JD, you have to shut off the tractor and relieve all pressure on the tractor. Has anyone had luck or knowledge on this matter ....

I tried finding aftermarket hydr q-connects. After MUCH wasted time and agravation, I just get the OEM's from my JD dealer. They use an JD o-ring seal that minimizes leaks at the hose/qc threads too. Just like the loader, you may have to release some pressure on the connection your are disconnecting/connecting to work the qc's. Thats my experience, all with JD OEM couplers. ....

Just a little tip. Being at the landscaping business for decades I learned to carry a plastic machinists hammer for unloading pressure on the male fitting's plunger. Basic rules of thumb: power off, operate valve to relieve pressure, never look directly at the connectors, wear safety glasse, then break the connection. Why the hammer? Some implements if left for a few days, like a hoe on its stabilizers, settle down on their cylinders causing back pressure on the line too great to overcome by making the connection by hand. Point the male connector away from you in a safe direction, and with your glasses on rap the center plunger to drive it open. Big squirt of fluid about ten or so feet, pressure off, make the connections easily. Some manufacturer's designs are better than others, my equipment is a mix from at least 6 brands, but as long as the shoulders/o-rings are a match then you'll be able to get flowing. ....

Ted, they actually make a device for doing that now.

It is like a pair of pliers, one jaw has a groove in it just big enough to slip into the groove in the fitting, the other jaw has a smooth channel and a little nub sticking out. When you put the unit over the coupler and squeeze any fluid is channelled out and away from the person holding it. The operator doesn't end up wearing any that way.

I'm told there is another version, although I've never seen it, that captures the fluid in a little metal container which screws into the second jaw. This allows compliance with EPA-type reg.'s for zero discharge into the environment.
